We have been using our newest pattern, Zig Zag Zoom for our summer kids camps. Each week, the kids make a quilt from start to finish - we let them use the HandiQuilter long-arm machine to quilt their quilts, and then on Friday, we put on a fun movie and they learn to do their hand binding.
This pattern is so fun and easy, and the variety of fabrics you can use is endless; We’ve seen it in batiks, Asians, florals, novelty, holiday, and more… You can use either twelve fat quarters, resulting in a different feature fabric in each large square, or you can use one feature fabric in all of the squares and then you will need eight coordinating fat quarters for your accent fabrics. This pattern was also featured by P & B Fabrics with their new collection, Safari So Good. It really looked great with the safari animals and their coordinating fabrics. Take a look here:
